Giant Squid Finally Filmed in Wild

Japanese scientists have captured some pretty cool footage of a giant squid, the first time anyone has filmed the creature in its natural habitat. Ever since specimens started washing up dead on beaches in the nineteenth century, the giant squid has been thought to be the real life basis for the legendary Kraken. Whether that is true or not, the giant squid is the most famous example of a cryptid that turned out to be real, which is one of the reasons why I find cryptids to be the most fascinating part of the paranormal.
